The rate of employees with a managerial function (excluding apprentices) allows assessing the position of people from different population groups on the labour market and on a hierarchical job scale.
Note: On the German and French version of this page, the tables have been updated with the latest data. Graphs and texts will be updated shortly.
The population without a migration background had 34% of employees with a managerial function in 2020. In the population with a migration background, the rate was significantly lower at 32%. People with a migration background from the second or subsequent generations and those from the first generation have a rate that does not significantly differ from that of the entire population with a migration background.
Between 2012 and 2020, the rate of employees with a managerial function remained stable in the population without and with a migration background.
In most major regions, there is no significant difference in the rate of employees with managerial function between the population without a migration background and that without. An exception can be observed among the Eastern Switzerland, where the population without a migration background has a significantly higher rate of employees with managerial function than the population with a migration background (36% against 31%).
