2.6% increase in Switzerland's GDP in 2022

26.08.2021 -The gross domestic product (GDP) of Switzerland fell by 2.4% in 2020 at the previous year’s prices. This marked drop is the consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, which particularly affected certain parts of the Swiss economy. This crisis brought about a sharp decline in domestic demand and foreign trade. The gross national income (GNI) also fell by 2.9% at current prices. These initial estimates for 2020 from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) are accompanied by a revision of the results from 2018 and 2019.

You will find further information in the press releases in German, French and Italian. The English version only includes the lead of the press release.
