Universities of teacher education

Women are more strongly represented at the universities of teacher education (UTE) than men with the exception of lecturers with management responsibility. Employees with a foreign passport are less represented at the UTE (accounting for less than 20% of employees) compared with the other types of higher education institution. The UTE use the majority of their staff resources for teaching and, according to demand, in particular for the pre-school, primary and lower secondary level courses. The proportion of administrative and technical staff in teacher education is around 30%. This is relatively high compared with departments at the universities of applied sciences (UAS).
