Wages in the private sector

On average, women’s wages are much lower than men’s. The standardised gross monthly wage (median) of women in the private sector was 5632 francs in 2016 and that of men 6593 francs. This represents a wage gap of 14.6%. The gap between men and women tendentially got smaller in the past two decades.
