Nationality of the convicted persons

For 2014, 2015 and 2016 tables are published with evaluations by nationality or nationality groups in detail. For each law one table contains the figures (absolute figures and conviction rates) for Swiss citizens and foreign nationals with B or C permits. A second table gives figures for all other foreigners. Figures are shown by sex and age for offences under the Swiss Criminal Code, the Road Traffic Act, the Foreign Nationals Act and the Narcotics Act.

An accompanying report deals with the limitations of the convictions statistics when comparing the conviction rates of different population groups by nationality, reveals the steps necessary to ensure quality management of the data and describes the tables provided in detail.
