2.6% increase in Switzerland's GDP in 2022

Neuchâtel, 28.08.2017 (OFS) - In 2016 the Swiss economy registered 1.4% growth in its gross domestic product (GDP) at the previous year's prices (+1.2% in 2015). This growth is in keeping with a contrasting environment characterised by a strong increase in foreign trade and investments in equipment. The gross national income (GNI) at current prices registered a decrease of 0.7% following a deterioration in the net income balance with the rest of the world. These initial estimates for 2016 from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) are accompanied by a revision of the results affecting the 1995-2015 period.
