Religion and spirituality in Switzerland are changing

Neuchâtel, 22.04.2016 (FSO) - Nearly one in two people say that they believe in a single God and one in four in a higher power of some form. Over 20% of the population say that they do not have a religion, but only 12% state that they are atheists. Although traditional places of worship are emptying, religious practices and beliefs continue to be upheld and are diversifying. Women are more inclined than men to be religious or spiritual, and this in more varied ways. These are some the results of the language, religion and culture survey conducted by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
