COVID crisis is followed by microchip crisis: the automobile market struggled to recover in 2021
Neuchâtel, 04.02.2016 (FSO) - In 2015, 427,000 motor vehicles were newly registered in Switzerland. This was almost as many as in the record year of 2012. In consequence the total vehicle stock also grew considerably, by 102,000 to 5.9 million vehicles (+1.8%). Three quarters of all motor vehicles are passenger cars. For agricultural vehicles, a clear trend towards increasingly heavy tractors can be seen. These findings are from the Federal Statistical Office's (FSO) newly published Road Motor Vehicle Statistics.
