Analysis of the pay gap between women and men ESS 2018
In 2018, in the economy as a whole, 60.9% of people receiving a monthly wage of less than CHF 4000 for a full-time job were women. Conversely, more men were found at the top of the pay pyramid, accounting for 81.2% of employees earning a monthly salary of more than CHF 16 000. The gender pay gap increased slightly between 2014 and 2018 (private and public sector) rising from 18.1% in 2014 to 19.0% in 2018. 45.4% of the pay gap remains unexplained, according to the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
