Between 2012 and 2022, part-time employment grew three times more than full-time employment

17.04.2020 - In Switzerland, almost half of employees benefited from flexitime in 2019, 18.9% mainly or regularly worked from home and 5.1% worked on call. Working on Saturdays was normal for almost one in five employed persons and on Sundays for one in ten. 7.7% of employees had a fixed-term contract. These are some of the results of the Swiss Labour Force Survey 2019 conducted by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).

The results of this press release concern certain working conditions in 2019 and their development since 2010. The effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the results of the 1st semester 2020 will be analysed as soon as the data are available (FSO press release in September 2020).
