Tourist accommodation in the 2022/23 winter season
The Swiss hotel sector recorded 17.4 million overnight stays during the winter tourist season (November 2022 to April 2023), the highest level ever observed. Compared with the same period last year, the volume increased by 18.0% (+2.7 million overnight stays). With a total of 8.1 million overnight stays, foreign demand increased by 42.6% (+ 2.4 million). Domestic demand rose by 2.5% (+228 000) and, at 9.3 million units, exceeded the record set last winter season.
