Persons aged 15 to 29 in the Swiss labour market in 2020
In 2020, persons aged 15 to 29 accounted for 22.0% of the economically active population compared with 29.7% thirty years ago. Nearly a third of young people combining education and employment in 2020 had a fixed-term contract and almost one in seven worked on call. Among 15-29 year-olds, the unemployment rate based on ILO definition was 6.9%, i.e. almost half the EU average. These are some of the findings from the publication “Persons aged 15 to 29 in the Swiss labour market in 2020” from the FSO.
