Tourist accommodation in the 2021 summer season
The hotel sector registered 18.2 million overnight stays in Switzerland during the summer season 2021(from May to October). Compared with the same period last year, overnight stays increased by 34.5% (+4.7 million overnight stays). With a total of 5.6 million overnight stays, foreign demand rose by 78.8% (+2.5 million). Domestic visitors registered a 21.3% increase (+2.2 million) with 12.7 million units.
