Health insurance premium index 2018 Premium increases from 2017 to 2018 curb growth in disposable income by 0.3 percentage points

Premium increases curbed growth in disposable income from 2022 and 2023 by 0.4 percentage points

23.11.2018 - The health insurance premium index (KVPI) has registered an increase of 4.1% for premiums in 2018 compared with the previous year, reaching an index level of 192.8 points (basis 1999=100). By means of the KVPI, the effects of the evolution of premiums on the growth of disposable income can be calculated. According to the Federal Statistical Office's KVPI model calculation, rising premiums curbed the growth of the average disposable income by 0.3 percentage points in 2018.
