Structural Business Statistics 2016 The 600 000 business mark passed for the first time in Switzerland

Robust growth in jobs in 2021

Neuchâtel, 23 August 2018 (FSO) - Almost 602 000 businesses were counted in 2016 on Swiss territory. Compared with the previous year, this represents an increase of 4539 units (+0.8%). Confirming this dynamism, employment growth mirrored the trend (+0.8%). Just as in 2015, growth came from service sector activity, which more than compensated for the downturn observed in the industrial and agricultural sectors. These are the latest results of the Federal Statistical Office's (FSO) structural business statistics (STATENT).
