Tourist accommodation during the 2022 summer season 21.9% rise in overnight stays in the Swiss hotel sector during the 2022 summer season

Record number of overnight stays in the hotel sector for the 2023 summer season

05.12.2022 - The hotel sector registered 22.4 million overnight stays in Switzerland during the summer season (from May to October 2022). Compared with the same period last year, overnight stays increased by 21.9% (+4.0 million overnight stays). With a total of 10.4 million overnight stays, foreign demand rose by 84.6% (+4.8 million). Domestic visitors registered a decrease of 6.0% (−762 000) with 11.9 million units. These are the provisional results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
