Doctors' surgeries and out-patient centres: structural data for 2018

At the end of 2018, 23 011 physicians worked in 16 924 medical practices and ambulatory centres in Switzerland. 14% of these were aged 65 and over. Women accounted for 41% of all physicians and 62% of physicians under the age of 40. Foreign-trained physicians worked at one third of medical practices’ sites.
