Swiss hotel sector generated a record 41 million overnight stays in 2023

05.08.2019 - The hotel sector registered 18.7 million overnight stays in Switzerland in the first half of 2019, representing an increase of 1.5% (+277 000 overnight stays) compared with the same period a year earlier. With a total of 10.3 million overnight stays, foreign demand rose by 1.8% (+184 000). Domestic visitors registered 8.5 million overnight stays, i.e. an increase of 1.1% (+93 000). These are the provisional results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
