First results 2022: marriage for all, sex change registered at a registry office
Marriage for all, and the possibility to make gender changes in the civil registry, came into force one after the other during the year 2022. Between 1 July and 31 December, 749 same-sex couples tied the knot and 2234 couples converted their registered partnership into a marriage. Between 1 January and 31 December 2022, 1171 gender changes were registered with Swiss civil registry offices. These are the initial provisional results from the civil registers for the year 2022.
