Contribution

The Contribution of a sub-index measures its relative influence on the total price development. The amounts are calculated from the weights and indices of the strata. The contributions add up to the overall price development.

- e.g. in the 2nd quarter 2020, the overall change in the IMPI compared with the previous quarter was 1.36%. The development of prices for single-family houses contributed 0.52 percentage points to this. The development of prices for privately owned dwellings contributed 0.84 percentage points to this. The influence of the index for privately owned dwellings was therefore higher. This is due to the combination of its weight in the overall index and the price development of EGW (52% and 1.6%). Both are stronger than those observed for EFH in the same period (weight: 48%, price increase: 1.1%).
