Definition
Switzerland has 11 regional airports: Bern Belp, Lugano-Agno, Sion, St. Gallen-Altenrhein, Birrfeld, Bressaucourt, Ecuvillens, Grenchen, La Chaux-de-Fonds Les Eplatures, Lausane-La Blécherette and Samedan. Regional airports are mainly used for business, tourism and aerial work as well as for training purposes. They also complement the national airports by offering direct scheduled and charter flights to destinations at home and abroad.
