Definition
Special box designed to carry freight. It is strengthened and stackable, allowing horizontal or vertical transfers. It is fitted with devices permitting its ready handling, particularly its transfer from one mode of transport to another. The most common ISO standard container sizes are those with a length of 20 feet (6.1 metres) and 40 feet (12.2 metres).
