Farm structure census 2020 In 2020, 15% of agricultural holdings in Switzerland were organic

11.05.2021 - While the number of agricultural holdings (49 363 in 2020) continued to decline (–1.3% compared with 2019), more and more holdings became organic (+3.8%). The utilised agricultural area (UAA) remained almost unchanged. Dairy cows continued to decrease (–1.5%) while poultry numbers continued to increase (+5.2%). Furthermore, 149 500 persons worked on the holdings according to the farm structure census 2020 carried out by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
