Statistics on business demography (UDEMO) Over 80% of businesses still active one year after being founded
In 2017, 7.1% of enterprises active in Switzerland were new businesses
10.12.2018 - In Switzerland, more than four in five businesses created from scratch are still active one year later. The rate of “surviving” businesses varies from one economic branch to another. The survival rate is particularly high in the health and social work sector. A business’s survival depends on its size at the time of being founded. One-employee businesses are less likely to survive than larger ones. These are the latest results from the Federal Statistical Office’s (FSO) statistics on business demography (UDEMO).
