Household production satellite account 2016 Unpaid work is worth CHF 408 billion

Neuchâtel, 11.12.2017 (FSO) - 9.2 billion hours were spent on unpaid work in Switzerland in 2016. That is more than were spent on paid work (7.9 bn hours). The total amount of unpaid work performed in 2016 is estimated to have a monetary value of CHF 408 billion. These are the new findings from the household production satellite account produced by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
