Goods transport in 2018 Biggest increase for 20 years in domestic heavy transport

Switzerland sees weaker growth in goods transport than in GDP in 2022

19.11.2019 - The transport performance of goods transport rose by 2.1% in 2018 compared with the previous year. Growth in road transport was 2.5% and in rail transport 1.4%. Road transport grew particularly strongly in domestic transport: with a rise of 4.7% in 2018 it registered the greatest increase for 20 years. These are some of the findings of the goods transport statistics produced by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
