Tourist accommodation in the 2023/2024 winter season Overnight stays in the Swiss hotel sector reach new record in 2023/2024 winter season

06.06.2024 - The Swiss hotel industry recorded 18.0 million overnight stays during the winter tourist season (November 2023 to April 2024), more than in the record year of 2022/2023. Compared with the same period of the previous year, the volume of overnight stays rose by 2.9% (+504 000). With a total of 8.7 million overnight stays, foreign demand increased by 6.0% (+491 000 million). Domestic demand rose by 0.1% (+13 000) to reach 9.3 million units, which just exceeded the record set last winter season. These are provisional findings from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
