The Cercle indicateurs is a forum dedicated to the development and use of sustainability indicators for Swiss cities and cantons. A common set of core indicators, for example, is used to compare cities or cantons with one another.

EUROSTAT - Indicators for sustainable development


Eurostat has developed a set of indicators to monitor, assess and review the EU's Sustainable Development Strategy. A parallel objective is to keep the general public informed of progress towards commonly agreed sustainable development objectives.

OECD - Sustainable Development Statistics


The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) examines various topics (e.g. technology, trade, climate change, agriculture, social cohesion, education) from a sustainable development viewpoint and publishes related statistics.

UN-CSD

UN-CSD set of indicators


Based on voluntary national testing and expert group consultations, the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development (UN-CSD) has compiled a core set of 58 indicators.
This set is currently being revised. An updated set is expected to be released in 2006.
