Cross sectional topicsRoad traffic delinquency
The cross sectional topic "Road traffic delinquency" comprises three parts: "data", an "indicator system" and "analyses" (see navigation on the left).
- The topic "data" contains key figures from different statistical sources concerning different aspects of road traffic delinquency (see also list below): self-reported criminal behaviour, attitudes of motor vehicle drivers, registrations of traffic offences in the penal registry as well as data on police checks and control policies. There are pages for download with Excel-sheets and detailed data sets.
- The «Indicator system» (in German and French) provides a large number of indicators for the two most important fields of delinquency, drink driving and high speeding. This system of indicators, developed by the Swiss Federal Statistical Office in close cooperation with the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention has been selected as best practice in the European evaluation project SUPREME
. SUPREME aims to identify, collect, analyse and publish the best practices and measures in road safety in the Member States of the European Union as well as in Switzerland and Norway. - The part «Analyses» contains publications, media reports, and further information on the topic (in French and German).
