According to the Federal Statistical Office’s (FSO) new scenarios, the number of full-time equivalents (FTE) of university teaching staff (UIT) could increase by between 500 and 800 from now to 2020 (i.e. between +16% and +24%).
The recruitment of new teaching staff in the universities could remain at a “historically” high level in 2012, before gradually declining. By 2020, this decline could be as great as 35% according to the “neutral" scenario (20% for the “trend” scenario).
