Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) is an indicator that the member states of EU and EFTA calculate based on a harmonized method and that allows comparing inflation internationally. The Swiss HICP is published as from 2008 according to the legislation of the EU and enhances the portfolio of economic indices available in Switzerland. The Swiss HICP is an indicator for comparing inflation in Switzerland with that of its European neighbours.
