General map of Swiss commune changes 2000-2010Annexations, mergers, renaming of communes

As part of the cartographic documentation of the official spatial divisions, the FSO Thematic Cartography unit also produces general maps of Switzerland in large format. This map documents all commune changes between the years 2000-2010. The map can be purchased for a small fee at the Federal Statistical Office. All maps are available as electronic or hardcopy versions, both versions in either colour or black and white.

Map content

• Names of communes, FSO codes assigned to both old and new communes
• FSO change numbers according to historicised commune register
• Time of change
• Communal and cantonal boundaries, exclaves and lakes
• Large towns and cantonal capitals
  

Available formats

• Electronic: mainly in .pdf format (cannot be edited)
• Open vector file (Illustrator, EPS, PDF) for further editing
• Printed poster: format 139 x cm, flat, scale 1: 275 000

How to order

Once you have sent off the form you will receive a link where you can download the ordered maps. The link is valid for 48 hours. Before placing your order, please note that the files are between 2 and 5 MB (graphic files).
