ESS - Eurostat - Common set of European tables

Introduction

Eurostat is the statistical office of the European Union situated in Luxembourg. Its task is to provide the European Union with statistics at European level that enable comparisons between countries and regions. With the signing of the bilateral agreement on statistics with the EU in 2007 Switzerland started taking part in the annual statistics programm of the European Union together with all members of the Union. In 2010 Switzerland became a full member of the European Statistical system (ESS).

The ESS is a network of partners comprising for instance Eurostat, the national statistical institutions and central banks of EU and EFTA member states, the European Central bank etc.

Eurostat publishes some 900 main indicators on the basis of data provided by the ESS. Among those we are offering here direct links to a selection of 21 key European tables on the topics of economy, labour, population, industry, energy, environment and agriculture. Such links ensure that interested users will always have access to the most current ESS results.
