| Short description | Statistics on Normal Workweek in Companies (NW) have been around since 1942, although the methodology has changed considerably over the years. The normal workweek is defined as the number of hours a company employee is required to work each week over a period of several months or years. Generally speaking, the workweek is understood as being full-time, with no overtime hours nor reduced work schedules. |

| Type of enquiry | Administrative data. Since 1973, NW have been based on employee accident claims sent to the Office for the Centralisation of Accident Insurance Statistics (SSUV/SSAA). The duration of the normal workweek is based on a weighted calculation, which depends on the results of the last Business Census. |
