RSS Feed

What is RSS?

RSS (Real Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for distributing and aggregating news and other Web content. By virtue of an RSS reader, the user is able to read RSS files that enable him to find out "What's New" on the Website of a given Web content provider.
The advantages are that the user is no longer obliged to waste time seeking out the new content published on a given Website, or to find his mailbox repeatedly overflowing with news information updates. Instead, thanks to RSS and its automatic aggregation of all new content published, the user is automatically alerted – in the form of a headline, summary, or link - to any new items appearing on the site. The new content is delivered to the user with a simple click on his mouse.
The material required is nothing more than a so-called RSS reader (see below) that is available for download free of charge.

To take advantage of the RSS offer being proposed by the Swiss Federal Statistical Office, simply enter the RSS-Fedd address under the heading "Newsfeed" proposing the RSS reader download

We currently offer the following RSS feeds in English:

  • RSSOwl External website. Content opens in new window.

RSS news reader for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux
