Swiss Health Survey 2017: Social inequality and physical health / Health of migrant population 34% of people with no post-compulsory education do not feel healthy

27.10.2020 - 91% of people with a tertiary diploma say that their state of health is good or very good. Among persons with no post-compulsory education, however, this is the case for only 66%. People of lower social status are more greatly affected by the risk factors for cardio-vascular diseases, osteoarthritis and back pain than those of a higher social status. These differences are reproduced partly in the population with a migration background, in particular to the disadvantage of the first generation from South West, Eastern and South East Europe. These are some of the findings of the Swiss Health Survey (SGB) 2017, produced by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
