Open and machine-readable data are becoming increasingly important. The Federal Statistical Office (FSO) has provided a corresponding offering for federal elections and popular votes since 2019.
For the 2019 federal elections, the FSO published for the first time in real-time the results as machine-readable JSON and CSV files (open government data). The same applies for the federal and cantonal votes that can be followed in real-time on voting day from 12 o’clock onwards on opendata.swiss. The data are used for the VoteInfo app and also by various media for real-time reporting.
