To improve the availability and comparability of data and statistics, to make use of synergies and to demonstrate leadership, we actively participate in work on data and statistics at national and international level.
This is the FSO's vision of international and national relations in accordance with objective 7 of the FSO's Corporate Strategy and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Overarching objectives of international and national affairs
- The FSO is recognised as a stakeholder and leader in the field of data and statistics;
- The FSO is visible internationally as the official representative of Switzerland for the three fields of activity of statistics, data management and data science;
- Swiss expertise flows into international organisations in all three areas of activity. Switzerland benefits from the international exchange of knowledge, which should be at local level as far as possible;
- Knowledge transfer to interested partner countries and international organisations is focused on partners from Federal Council strategies and is carried out within the framework of available resources;
- Improved coordination and communication between all statistics and data producers in Switzerland should be ensured.
